Field notes stay on your device
Saved entries and notes use browser local storage. They are not transmitted to Grave Symbols. Clearing browser data deletes them, so use the export controls for important research.
Search stays in the browser
The search index is downloaded as a static file and queried locally. Search terms are not sent to a site search service.
Optional analytics
The initial release does not enable analytics. If the deployment owner later enables the optional privacy-first analytics configuration, the site sends aggregate page and interaction events without search text, note contents or uploaded photos. The active provider and retention terms must be documented here before enabling it.
Hosting logs
The hosting provider may process basic request, security and performance data according to its own infrastructure policies.
Advertising status
The initial release does not load advertising code. Before advertising is enabled, this policy and the consent experience must be updated for the regions served and the technologies actually used.
